Help! I need to evict my new roommates

I'm sure you've had them. Roommates you can't get along with. They have no respect for your belongings. They eat your food. Leave a mess. Are constantly bothering you. Just when you think they've agreed to the house rules, they're back annoying you.

I didn't invite these roommates in. They just snuck in one night and moved in on their own about a month ago. Despite my best efforts, I just can't convince them to leave. Yep, we've been invaded by ants. We have found them in EVERY room in the house. We've tried bait, we've tried all kinds of insecticide, we've tried the honey/borax treat. They just keep coming back and I'm pretty sure they are bringing all their relatives too and are living in the walls of the house.

I'm open to suggestions. On the plus side, my counters have never been cleaner.

they won't cross cinnamon and windex will kill them........and we have an exterminator come out every other month because I have a total ant phobia!

I'm with Susan - call an exterminator! It's worth the money for peace of money. Hey, remember - I'm an entomologist and after 1.5 years of battling with ants & finding other "undesirables" in the garage (despite repeated fogging), I had to throw in the towel. It's really nice to know you can pick up the phone and call to have a problem taken care of. Email me if you have any questions... and good luck! :)

I meant to say it was worth it for the peace of mind. Don't you hate that feeling of waking up in the morning, dreading to find out where the ants are now?

I think we have super ants here because they will cross over cinnamon and cayenne pepper, although they don't like it. Still hoping we don't have to call an exterminator although that's what our next door neighbor did. I think all the ants that survived that spraying came over here to live.

Normally, I'd say use those ant control stakes or stations. But if they're in every room of the house, an exterminator might be the best route. Unless you can find the nest on your own and then spray the hell out of it with ant killer.
